BackToIndia ("we", "us") runs a community, guides, and a planning tool at app.backtoindia.com for NRIs planning a move back to India. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account info — name, email, and the fields you fill in your R2I plan.
- Community activity — posts, comments, and reactions inside our groups.
- Usage data — pages viewed, referrer, device/browser, and coarse location (country/city level) via privacy-respecting analytics.
- Cookies — a small number for login sessions and analytics. No third-party ad trackers.
How we use it
- To run the site, remember your plan, and keep your account secure.
- To send you the newsletter and reply to messages you send us.
- To improve the guides — e.g. seeing which sections are actually helpful vs which ones need a rewrite.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
- We do not run behavioural ad networks on the site.
- We do not share your plan details with service providers unless you explicitly request an introduction.
Third parties we use
Our stack is small on purpose: hosting, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing. Each processor only sees the data required to do its job.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account at any time — just email us via the contact page. We usually respond within a few working days.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll note it at the top of the page and, for account holders, send an email.
